Bezel is thick side up, and it does retain its 1F, not a chevy motor.
It does have a SM420 from a 1960 chevy pickup, aftermarket seats, roll cage and blacked out accents like the grill, emblems and such, though.
- I am the 3rd owner, purchased it from the original owners' nephew in 2009.
Over the 5 years, nearly everything on it has been rebuilt, replaced and/or upgraded, from the engine to the blinkers!
- Engine rebuild and install was done by Marc Racob of Racob's Automotive in Merced, CA (master Toyota technician for 30+ years)
- A lot of the remaining work was done at Valley Hybrids in Stockton, CA.
• U.S spec, CA only vehicle.
• 1F -fully rebuilt top to bottom w/ less than 5,000 miles since completed in 2019.
• 4 speed SM420 installed by PO. (Extra low 1st gear)
• Transfer case, locking hubs and front drive engage all works perfectly.
• Clutch replaced when engine was reinstalled in '19
• Replaced clutch and slave cylinders.
• Rebuilt Weber carburetor w/ K&N filter.
• OEM mechanical fuel pump, lines and upgraded fuel fitler replaced.
• Gas tank drain, cleaned and sealed.
• Champion aluminum radiator w/ new overflow reservoir.
• Alternator replaced w/ remanufactured one.
• New Ignition switch installed.
• DUI distributor w/ Livewire plugwires.
• Tri-Mil headers with Flowmaster muffler.
• FJ60 front disc brake conversion
• New OEM brake booster.
• AISIN brake master cylinder.
• TSM rear disc brake kit.
• Steel braided brake lines.
• Power steering conversion w/ new power steering cooler, telescoping steering shaft, pitman arm and HD steering linkage kit
• Bilstein shocks.
• New greasable pin, shackles, leaf spring bushing set (front and rear), u-bolts and plates.
• Light racing JounceShock bumpstop system, installed by PO who worked for and designed them for Light Racing.
• LED Headlights by Dapper Lighting. Black w/outer halos and amber crossovers that blink in sync with the fender blinkers.
• LED taillights
• Replaced OEM blinkers on fenders -originals were cracked and faded.
• Corbeau Baja RS front bucket seats w/matching rear bench seat and all new seat belts.
• Custom 6 point roll cage by Gatekeeper Offroad in Tracy, CA.
• Full hard doors in solid condition.
• Body panels and tub are orginal. The only metal that's been cut are the rear fenders.
• Two small spots of rust on the both sides of the rear sill, but they have been treated with protectant. Other than those two spots, the rest of the 40 is rust-free.
• Fender wells and 90% of the frame has been taken to bare metal, por-15'd and then painted satin black.
*** All the work has been done within the last 5 years.
*** Miles on it since completed are less than 5k.
• THE BAD•
- The hard top was stolen about 10 years ago, so NO TOP.
- Small leak from the emergency brake drum.
