I took apart the IAC and don't know how to put it back together.
Does the black flat washer spring (on the pic) go on before the bearing or after it?
I found the washer spring in the IAC body so I assume the spring goes after the bearing goes on.

Mine fell apart also.

If you look at the "washer" it will conform to the spindle side (little 1mm shaft hub fits on flat side of washer) and the 3 pointed "washer" arms will drop down into the magnetic cavity. Once you put everything in it's place, you spin the magnetic side of the body while holding the newly o-ringed shaft and it will pull together.

Don't forget to loctite the 3 little brass screws. :)

There was no carbon in the IAC but there was some dark oil on the IAC.
How would oil get in there?
I have the TRD filter but haven't cleaned and reoiled it yet.

What grade loctite should I use? I put on the Medium (Blue Bottle)

The oil is from the PVC valve somewhere, you will see tons of the build up behind the butterfly valve in the TB if you have high mileage.

Blue loctite is for return visits or for removal at a later stage.

I used Red because I kind of striped the brass head screws and if I ever return I'll just use vice grips to brake the old loctite and insert the "new" screws again. Also I don't want any of those screws to visit any of my valves under any circumstances. :bounce:

What you talkin about Willis?!

AFAIK, the IAC is not supposed to self-destruct or self-disassemble when removed. Perhaps this is somehow related to the problem some are having with their idle speed on start?

kurt, what issues where you having that encouraged you to take this apart? i'm fixin to take mine off in a few hours so was curious.

This all started with the 2 oil ring idle solution a month or so ago.
