I want to change the AHC fluid but LX won't move.

So I ordered some fresh AHC fluid and got everything ready to do a flush.
I printed out the pdf, got a helper and my tools ready.
I started the truck and pushed the suspension to 'high'. The green light started blicking, but nothing happened. Same thing when pushing the 'low'.
Nothing.

I tried everything, Gear in park, doors closed, hand brake on, hand brake off etc..
Am I doing something wrong? The system was working yesterday but now it won't go up or down. The 'Neutral light stays on and the 'high' or 'low' light just blinks.

The LX was on a hoist this morning for rust prevention. Could it be that it somehow triggered a wheel sensor?

Odd. I was going to remind you all doors including hatch needed to be closed, but you covered that. The only time mine won't go up is when its overloaded with a trailer hitched up.

All I can suggest is take it for a drive and try again. Maybe disconnect a battery cable and then power it back up.

I took it for a drive and it didn't solve it.

Then I disconnected the battery for a while. Applied the brake for a couple of seconds to be sure it was totally drained. Reconnected the battery. The VGRS light was blinking again so I took it for another drive to get the sensor calibrated again.
Then tried to go up and down, but the problem persists. It won't move.

It's going back to he shop tomorrow for new tires. I will have them look at it. I have no idea what it could be.

The mechanic took it in to the shop this morning and he tried it again and it worked.... but only one time. :hhmm:
And he told me that the tire pressure light was on too.

What the *** is going on here?

My truck exhibited EXACTLY the same behavior as yours for a while. Dealership mis-diagnosed it serveral times. I ordered a new rear sensor online, around $300 i think. 5 minute install. Fixed all issues.

Did they spray some corrosion protection stuff which could have found its' way inside the height sensor?

That's what I am thinking too. They sprayed everything with a wax-like anti-corrosion substance. Who knows what got penetrated.
The LX is still at the shop and I just went over to see the progress. Not much has done yet, but they will take a closer look at the sensors, maybe open them up and see if they are dirty or corroded inside. I hope they find something that will solve this problem.
They hooked up a snap-on ODB2 scanner and although I don't not the correct values, it showed something like +52 on the left sensor and -64 (negative) on the right sensor. You would think the values should be more or less the same.

We took the right sensor apart. It was rusted and had two broken springs.

We cleaned the sensor as much as possible and put it back together again (incl. the broken springs) and the systems works again. I will change the sensor on Monday. I've ordered the sensor too late so it won't be here before the weekend.

They ordered the wrong part.
They called me because if they order they sensor it will cost me more then $ 500 for 1 sensor.

The AHC is working now, but I rather have good sensors. It should be an easy fix, but I can't find any online at a decent price.
The only thing I basically need to do is replace 2 little brass springs.
I haven't opened up the other two sensors because there is no such thing as a preventive repair.

A lot of guys here have replaced their AHC suspension with conventional springs. Is anybody willing to sell their old sensors. I basically only need those little springs.

Please?

I don't know the part number but I don't think they changed anything.
I'd be happy to take them off you hands for a fellow mudder price :p
If they don't fit, I could always try and salvage the springs and use my own sensors.

It shouldn't be difficult. I found this page.

Jason, PM me if you are interested.

No problem. If you like, you can contact me directly at mrdeltat -at- gmail.com

Hey Jason, I just replied to your PM..

Today I changed the AHC fluid.

Thanks to the detailed description here in the forum it was easier the expected. The old fluid was pretty dirty.
It was somewhat challenging to loosen the bleeder screws. There is some rust build up and I didn't want to brake them off.
One bleeder had a missing rubber cap and when I managed to loosen it nothing came out. I then proceeded to turn it as much as I dared and the fluid started dripping from behind the bleeder. Not perfect, but it worked.

I still have to replace one of the sensors, I don't think it is working correctly. If I put it in low, everything is fine. But when putting it in high, it goes up but the light goes back to neutral. I thought It might be related to the length of the front AHC sensor rods so I extended them a bit. But that didn't help.
I will wait until I find some working sensors and figure it out then.

Rust has probably clogged the breather orifice...try some piano wire or a paper clip to see if you can break it up.

Where did you find the drainer thing shown in the pics?

Do you know what sensor it is you need? If you end up having to buy a new one I'm sure I can get it for you much cheaper than what they are selling it to you for.

I tried to clean it but it was too clogged. I will leave it alone for now and worry about it when I change the fluid again. I will then just replace the bleeder with a new one.

I bought the drainer pump at Canadian Tire. It is a DELUXE  Pump and it was on sale. Worked good although I had to straighten out the hose. I am sure you can find them at other hardware stores.

I need a AHC wheel sensor for my right wheel. They quoted me something like $500 for one, which is crazy. I openend it up and there are 3 little springs. Nothing to it. Two of them were rusted (see a couple of posts up). I even think that if I replace the springs with good ones, the problem is solved.
I fellow mudder offered me to sell his old sensors but he still has to take them off his rig.
I was thinking of replacing them all or at least clean them good and check them for faulty springs. When one starts failing, usually they all go after a while.
I might consider new ones if the price is right.

Now, something else you might be able to help me with too. I ave a key issue and user matticus recommended Lowe Toyota !!
I am trying to find a spare key (with remote). My LX only came with one master. The problem is that I live in Canada and the vehicle was imported from the US. The thread is here. If you like I can email my proof of ownership etc... If you could help, that would be great.
