Oh yeah, what's the story here? Looks like you just went looking to get into that stuff....... What's up?

Ummm more or less. Should have stuck to the makeshift log "bridge"
because on either side was a muskeg stream that feeds a river. After sliding off the logs things went from bad to worse!
I guess I have hard time accepting that whatever your driving, you'll probably get stuck in northern Alberta, you'll never know unless you try it!

Great post up Topoman!

Being from AZ. we don't have as much mud as ya'll do.

Spare clothes next time??

This thread delivers......its great I love it.

I know......... that's because you didn't get caught with your pants off:doh:

Sometimes mud is all there is......keep the speed up,work the front end constantly,..... and ,uhm check the depth of anything that is covered with flat calm water. This would be the ideal time to check for the" spare pants" prior to the attempt(ok-haha).....Get rid of the baloney skins if you didn't get AT's,
and after that......its all part of why so much fun comes from so small of an initial cash outlay. I did say, INITIAL, cause after that ....well you probably know.

My hate for mud is what drew me to this site initially (and after I was banned on another site...i have mild turret's i think, uh,...sorry).

Mud ruins EVERYTHING... components, morale, traction, wheel balance, sheet metal, control, bearings, pulley's......you get the pic...

I just shelled out 1-k to fix my sheet metal. MUD was directly responsible...along with a live tree.

I declare WAR on MUD...We must ALL CONQUER & DESTROY MUD.

SCOOP IT...BLOW IT UP...SCORCH IT...

I love the smell of napalm scorthing mud in the morning...

OK..Goodnight...gotta get up early and clean my F^%$in' undercarriage.

Both great points!!

Biggest suck was moving back to TX from the West Coast. Rocks and climbs much more fun....but sometimes you have to make due with what you have. Both can be very expensive. I have plenty of tree scars as a result mud, but just as many from getting in tight spots in the mountains and thin single track....afterall scares are stories! I would rather slide the side of my FJ on a tree than a jagged rock though!! at least its usually just a scratch that can't be buffed out...but usually doesn't dig into the sheet metal as often.

not to be misunderstood...i would much rather be wheeling on the west coast than here. but few spots around here have anything resembling a mountain!! i just have to clean my under carrage more often!

the worst thing is that cause of gas prices, i will be cleaning under the truck much more than i would like. last i calculated, it would be close to $800 in gas JUST to get to Cali, UT, AZ or NV and back:(
