try Fastenal.. the one near me has tons of bolts and drill bits and grinding wheels and little bits and pieces of random stuff in stock.. they also have big books if you need to order something and it usually comes in, in a pretty reasonable amount of time.

dont know how their prices compare though.

Lowes

Thanks...

I visit lowes quite often, but 3/4" is the largest bit there. And Grainger and fastenal are my next best bet. I'm spoiled I guess because I'm used to 10 4wheel drive shops in a 50 mile radius.
Just like tie rod tubing 1 1/4" x 1/4" wall team tube will ship, but who's local? It's just frustrating being out of my element and developing a new network while in the middle of projects. All help is welcome and APPRECIATED..................:cheers:THANKS EVERYONE:clap:

Great info..

The guy from New England Industrial Truck had mentioned that place, but after he left I couldn't remember the name only it was in Wakefield. We should start a thread with all the local go to places 4 offroaders tubing, bolts, drill bits, taps, benders, paint supplies and whatever else.....:hhmm: we all know Autozone is not the answer just kidding they are ssssssooooooo smart there..:flipoff2:

HD Chasen in Somerville has damn near everything, but they charge 3x regular price.

McMaster and MSC both ship from close enough that regular UPS shipping usually shows up the next day.

Star Sales- is great for grinding disks and such too not sure if they sell bolts tho the companies i work for in the union usually get all they stuff there

Hey, that's good to know. I didn't even know Hilti had retail stores. I just bough a Hilti angle grinder for my #3 at HD, silly me.

As far as this list goes, you seem to be looking for local, but as far as lists go, they seem to be thinking ahead, which sounds like not necessarily local.

As far as not necessarily local goes, I get most of my metalworking tooling from use-enco.com which is more or less the same as MSC (and owned by them), but ships out of the midwest instead of NY and is way cheaper.

Turner Steel is local, but I've just ordered regular mild steel from them, I don't know about HREW and DOM etc.

I've been happy with Dillsburg for 4130 seamless, but they have no website etc. I've been very happy with them and they do DOM and aircraft parts. If you know what you want, it's easy to call them up and get a quote, and they'll ship 8' lengths UPS. Ask for a print catalogue when you order, (717) 432-4589.
Aircraft Spruce is similar, but further away if I remember right, with a website.

So there is a fastenal 3 blocks down the street from where I work. We have a commercial account with them. But I still drive 30 miles in any direction to avoid buying stuff from them. their prices are super ridiculous. I bought some 2" x 3/8" flat stock stainless one day from them cuz I was in a pinch and it was priced something like 56 cents and INCH.

wtf???

they might have what your looking for, but ide buy stuff over the internet way before i drove to one of there stores.

That being said I should send you a batch of grinding disks from my local welding supply place kina. They have there own discs made specially and in my opinion last about 2x longer.
