I was thinking through some options on recovery points for my 80 series. There are not a lot of options, and the ones that are out there are fairly expensive. I took a trip today down to my local pull a part place. I found that Ford trucks/suv’s from (roughly) 97-03 have two styles of tow hooks. One awesome (as pictured) and one not so great.
I picked up these massive 1 piece recovery points for $5 each. They are cool because they have the weld nuts on bar that slides into the frame. This could make it really easy to put them on almost anything.
I took them home and used the stock mount as a template. Drilled one hole and they (in my opinion) fit fantastic. They are super stout too. For what is worth they don’t stick out past the front bumper.
