How fked am I?

Hi guys,

I picked up this 94 Landcruiser couple weeks ago and noticed it’s eating coolant and the reserve is black.

White smoke in a cold start then it goes away after driving.

Excuse my language but how fked am I? Prolly HG job huh?

Rad is new but I asked the PO, he says that the reason why the rad is new because it was leaking and did not change the hoses.

I did not check for leaks yet because I just notice today but I will do that before HG. I’ll probably drain everything first and change the hoses.

good points Kernal, you made me think of my old boss many years ago who topped up the radiator in a work car with engine oil. and yes, he topped up the motor with water.....

Not many doing HG as PM but a lot of us have had to do the HG on these rigs including me.
It’s a pretty common problem with these rigs.
Do you do your own wrenching?
