Any wisdom please. I've got a 2000 LC and am about to slap 285/75s on it but after doing a little reveiw I'm getting cold feet. I live at 7000' and drive some pretty steep grades. The car is my wifes daily driver and I don't want to slug the car out to gain a little clearance. I had 33" and regeared my ond fj62 -- but that truck was gutless before I stared to modify it. If the effects of the 285 are slight -- I'd still be a fan -- I just don't want it downshifting and gear hunting on grades we used to blow utp. Thanks for any input. And don't say supercharger -- well, don't say it this year... Thanks.

Yeah. The 3FE motor is one thing that promted the trade from our 62 to the 100. I don't want to have day to day sluggishness to gain only an inch via tire clearance. But if I really won't notice it -- I'd go for it.

You won't notice it. If needed, push your "power" button on the transmission to lenghten the gear change and you're done.
