I am finally confident with my set up in the rear of the runner, and did some final testing after modification to the panhard adjustment / length, best shock for application, sway bar extensions, bumpstop location, etc. last weekend. I put the rear to the extent of the Rubicon Express links, and completely cycled my suspension. (as shown more than cycled:eek: )
Now I just need to plan on how to complete my front to match my new extended travel. Any suggestions short of swapping in a solid axle? I currently have Tundra coils, up front (Sonoran Steel Kit) that offer 3"+ above stock.

Great Pics, BTW...

Whoa there, one step at a time! I got to work up to things... It just took me three weeks to design my new dash in the 40 - and only 2 hours to build it!
(pics coming soon of 40 build to this point)

Thanks man, I was just on the north range of Sycamore Crick, where the crowds are thinner, at the small rockgarden. Not well known as a trail, mostly used by the quads untill it gets to a higher elavation.

Head over to yotatech for some good feedback and options. I have a 2nd gen 4Runner and added extra clearance and lift by going with ball joint spacers. I've had them for a couple of years and have been very happy with the setup. The main problem with doing any sort of additional lift up front with the IFS is the increase to the CV joint angle. I'm not sure if you've put manual hubs up front yet, but that is your first step you want to do before any additional lift. That way your CV's can be disengaged for all driving except 4WD and will greatly reduce the wear & tear factor. The benefit of doing ball joint spacers is they go on top of the control arm and the lift is added above the CV joints, thus maintaining the same angle. These give you about 1 1/2" of lift, and it's definitely the cheapest/easiest way to gain a little more lift up front. Other than that, you're looking at big bucks to modify with some of the stuff from some of the other specialty vendors.
