I Have a dumb Question

I've been told "foreign jeep" but who knows.

Foreign Jeep is what I thought as well. Original FJ was a copy of the WWII Willys Jeep that was brought to Japan after the bombing. Original F motor was a copy of the chevy slant six IIRC.

Wish I had a reference for you but I can't find it right now.

Not a dumb question. I've never even thought about that until now haha.

I definitely want to know now though :)

F = Engine Series Code J= Chassis Series Code

Just like the domestic manufacturers designate model codes; Camaro/Firebird = F Body

Alright. I knew we have the f, b, h. Engines. But what other chassis besides J do we have.

On some Toyota history site. The first TLC BJ-25. Was the Toyota Land Cruiser B series engine Jeep.

So I just always assumed toyota called it the _series jeep.
