I have a 2004 LC, I have had a annoying sound of a pebble or a screw rolling across a piece of plastic for a long time. After looking for it for months I finally figured out where it is coming from, under the back seat behind the driver between the bottom of the seat and the piece of plastic that covers the bottom of the seat. Obviously a screw came out, a clip broke or something. I WANT IT OUT!!!!

It looks like a pain to remove and that it might be holding the seat covers on? Has anyone removed this piece in order to gain access? How many bananas is it?

Take a barrel vacuum cleaner, adapt a length of 3/8 vinyl hose to the vacuum hose with tape. Leave the seat vertical as pictured to help the offending lump stay along the bottom edge. Turn the vacuum on and go fishing with the vinyl hose via ALL available holes in the seat base.
If there is something in there you'll find it faster than by pulling the seat base off [unless that's a LOT easier than I think it is].

I have had the plastic cover off before, but i had the seat removed. 6 to 8 screws and it comes off. It was not that difficult, but a bit awkward. There is a thread on mud about it, but could not find it doing a quick search.

After some digging around I found a thread, got the plastic bottom off and found a pebble and a jelly bean in there.

Holy Sh.. I am so glad I do not have to listen to that sound anymore.

I have the same noise and have known for awhile that it was coming from where you identified. It only rattles when the seat is vertical and even then it's only mildly annoying. Guess I have my first post-winter project waiting for me. Or at least when temps clear 40 degrees!

It is not too bad of project total time is probably about an hour from start to finish and strangely enough it takes less time to put it all back together than it does to take it apart.

Seat has to come out of the car, only four bolts.
