It has been two years at this house and three garage door incidents will my wife.

This time it was the LX's front right bumper corner into the garage door frame.

I've managed to get all the house paint off. However, there are a few spots where all the bumper clear and paint is off straight down to the plastic.

The car is black with dark charcoal-like trim. The dealer has touch-up paint-but only the brush on type that always looks bad, especially on a larger area.

Does anyone know where I can get small arousal can of this paint.

Can't help you out with the paint, but if you find a source of arousal in a can, please, PLEASE let some of us old married guys know! :D

Do you mean "aerosol?" Or does paint arouse you (that's kinky)... :flipoff2:

I have never seen actual OEM paint beyond the small touch-up vials, I doubt they have it in spray cans. I think this is the perfect opportunity to upgrade to an armored bumper (ARB, TJM, etc.).

In the stock black powder coat, not only will it look awesome on your black truck, but will be very easy to touch up (even with commonly available black spray cans)!

Try www.paintworldinc.com

Don't know that they are "cheap", but not too bad and the service was excellent. They can paint match to your truck.

color-rite

Not always a good idea to let "the other" take the brunt of the damage when your house has been "the other" 3 times in the last 2 years.

1.5 times/year for backing/manuvering incidents is about average for a female. My driver's side mirror is held together with super glue.

do you have a NAPA (w/ a paint dept.) in your town. they can blend you up a batch and put it in a spray can. best of luck.

My wife bumped into the car in front of her a couple weeks ago. The front bumper already had touch-up paint on it from the previous owner. So I took the opportunity to upgrade to ARB. I'll post some picts soon. My LX is a different color than yours though...

I found the black once when looking but CDAN does not have hazard materials shipping capabilities - I would call up the dealers

Just placed the order - I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!

I presume you have the 2-coat (base + clear), right? Did you order the plastic primer? I got the pearl tri-coat, which consists of three paints (base, mid, plus clear). The OEM touch up paint bottles are a joke. There's no way to replicate a tri-coat or even 2-coat with a single coat and have it look anything close.

A pro shop would probably strip the clear coat off half the bumper and spray the scratched area and feather it in, then re-clear coat the half bumper, or just strip and spray the entire bumper.

Jim,

Thanks - I got the base, the clear and the body filler.

It came to almost $60 - I hope this stuff is good.

I've gone to a local paint store and had them mix up oem paint in an aerosol can for me. It was about $25/ can and it was dead on. I painted my TJM bumper to match the trim on the 100. It looks great!

ok, this has got to be the biggest running joke. everyone has hit thier bumpers on the garages. I was just informed that she did it again last week.

3 options.
1)Leave, she will do it again! Plus it makes it look manly and you can fix it before you sell it.
2) Fix the Plastic:
a)You can take it to a dent/scratch shop and ask them to fix it. Call the highline dealers and ask them who they use. Less than 150 here.
b)replace the plastic bumper with a refurbished cover(from the last guy who did it) and get it painted.Looks new and can barely tell.(don't pay more than 300 for paint and bumper 150.00 each.) you can install it in about 2 hours easy.
3)Buy a real damn bumper. One that isn't just a plastic cover. Then befriend the appropriote Journeyman and get ready to fix your house.

Either way I wouldn't try to just touch it up, I went that route and it sucks.
