Last two weeks, I have been trying to change oil in my Mom's 2007 LX 470. First week couldn't find the drain plug or to access the oil filter. Last week found the plate to get the oil filter out. I still can't find the oil drain plug.......

Can a good "soul" can upload a picture where I can find this.

Thank you.

If you find a plug and red stuff comes out.. that's not the right one.

It should be fairly obvious as there are only two pan type objects underneath with plugs in them... you want the one more forward. Clearly a search on the internet should yield a photo.

Here's an overview of where the filter and drain plug are located:

Hope you find the info helpful.

Yes, very helpful. I saw that drain plug cover and thought to myself, it can't be that far back.

Thank you the pictures.
Use a fresh Toyota or Lexus sealing washer with the drain plug. Oil filter Mobil 1 1-209 or Wix equivalent. She'll take 7+ quarts with the filter change.

I went through the same search when I first bought the truck. It does sit further back than I had expected. Eventually you'll memorize where all the access plugs are for diffs, oil, trans fluid, etc.

What I did to be sure I got the correct drain plug, I followed the drain stick from below.
It ended in somewhere where the drain is.
Simple but it works.
It would be very annoying if you open up the drain and it is the transmission drain...... Which I almost had. :o
With the TJM sump protection plate on, I can't drain the oil properly. The hole isn't lined up with the drain, it is further back.
But I will only change the oil once a year so not a really big issue.
