I recently bought a 2005 HZJ79 Land Cruiser pick-up truck from an auction sale. However, the front axle was removed and is not available. I have tried looking around and asking around but have been unsuccessful with finding one.

I was however able to find a complete one for an HZJ105. I am told that the HZJ79 has a different diff. I would like to find out if the axle can fit without modification and if it can't, are there are modifications which could be done to make it fit?

Thanx in advance for the help.

You probably want to post this up in the 70 Series Tech forum.

You may be good with the diff, there are a lot of the 4.3 ratio diffs that are interchangeable between some of the 7X and 105. You'd just have to verify the tooth count.

The axle on the other hand will be a different story.

Having owned both a 100 and 70 series, the wheel base is different on the two trucks. The 70 series trucks have a narrow width, vice the fat old 100 series that sits a little wider. The frame rails and forward suspension arms may be a different width, so you may need to do a quasi cut and turn to get all the suspension mounting bracketry in the right place.
