I seem to be having some issues with the clutch on my HZJ74. They appear after driving the car for some time, a bit over an hour of city driving. After this time when starting in first gear the clutch appears to be slipping and jerking the car hard, making noises like the entire transmission wants to rip itself out of the car. This only happens in first gear when accelerating from 0. After you get going it does not appear when shifting to other gears. Some of my more mechanically adept friends suggested that it could potentially be some overheated spot on the flywheel, but they didn't say this with much confidence.
Has anyone here had similar issues? My first course of action would be to replace the clutch and flywheel however this is a bit of a cost i would like to avoid if possible.
