Hello Mud.

First--what a bank of knowledge and information this place has been over the last few years. Thanks to all who've been getting it done.

I'm boring and appreciate things that are reliable, durable, and will go the distance. Not much for luxury or technology. If it weren't for the kids, I'd drive a 70 series.

Have always appreciated Toyotas in general, but esp. the LCs, and I acquired this 2013 LC with 169K miles on the clock not long ago--it's in great shape with minimal wear. Fortunately for me, a deer went face-first into the front license plate and a new radiator was then installed just before i got it! The original rad didn't have a crack, just FYI.

My overall goal with this machine is to make it last--take care if it and enjoy it for what it is. I'd like to keep it as 'stock' as possible (relatively speaking) as it is capable enough for what my interests are. This will be my 3rd vehicle build and, as has been mentioned across the forum, 2nd/3rd builds are often MUCH different than the 1st. I don't overland and am not interested in all the accessories that come with it--except maybe a few--but we will see how that goes for me as there are multitudes of well-outfitted rigs here that one can't help but appreciate. This LC will cut its time between our farm and hunting properties living the good life in PWR mode.

So far I've done the following:
-Switched to 5w-30
-Front brake rotors
-Changed PVC valve
-Lubed driveshafts
-Changed rear diff and transfer case oils (front diff fill plug is nearly stripped so I need to chisel it before replacing)
-Deleted that danged pesky wiper sensor--I hate auto-wipers.
-Bought 5 new BFG Trail-Terrian tires...and somehow my mpg improved by at LEAST .5 miles (16.5-17)...and that is in PWR mode.
-Husky mats
-Engine cover delete
-Kroil'd the KDSS valve as it is 'secured' shut.
-3rd Row delete

In the future all mods I'd really like to do is:
-Front and Rear coil spacers (i appreciate rake)
-Cargo rack--puppy is 5 months old, weighs 60lbs, and needs all the space he can get.
-M2 .50-Cal

Great lookin' truck. Mine is also 2013 and similar miles though heavily modded. Mine also took a deer hit that destroyed the front and is the point mu mods started with a TJM bumper. Even without my desire to off road, I'd have a full bar up front as my odds of hitting deer on pavement is fairly high where live and drive.

Here is a thread you might be interested in that is about my 150K PM. I admittedly went a bit nuts and replaced some things that didn't need to be replaced but also would probably do it again, especially if the rig was new to me. The mechanical peace of mind I got plus the knowledge and fun (yes it was fun) I got out of doing the work was worth more that the cost for sure.

Awesome! That is much appreciated! I have a feeling more mods than i expect are in the future--"it all started with an oil change."

I look forward to reading about your future change!

But… I’ll bite… the M2 is a joke?
Would be pretty cool if not.

And why the rain sensor delete instead of just turning it off?

I guess it would depend on the cargo rack. I'd need to cut a new sunroof for the rear seats and mount the M2 over the current sunroof--just thinking of the functionality of the endeavor. Otherwise it would be mounted on a rear bumper and I'd remove the upper portion of the rear hatch and keep the tailgate--would look badass! But the first step would be locating a Ma Deuce to begin with, I figure.

And as far as the wipers are concerned, when I would turn them on when i needed them--even if it just raining a little--they would bust out into full-on tropical downpour mode no matter which setting I had them on and I'd be left looking like a stooge who can't operate his wipers properly. Overall, I didn't like the function and now the auto-wipers are disengaged they operate like any other vehicle's wipers with adjustable frequency.
