I'm planning on doing the hunter lake trail this weekend. I have never done this trail but I don't believe it is difficult at all. The trail starts at the edge of southwest Reno, so it's very close. There is a potential to run into snow at some point so just keep that in mind. If we run into anything to difficult for your rig you can hop in mine, and if your rig is down and you still want to go you can come with me.

Vote if you would rather do this on Saturday the 2nd or Sunday the 3rd.

I'm thinking we meet up at the trail head at 9am and bring a lunch.

I checked out the trail for about 30 minutes after dropping some roommates off on campus (they couldn't make it out of our sub division).
The snow was not deep at all, should be fun this weekend, I'm sure most of it will melt away tho.

And yes that is not my 80. I am driving around this Lx450 for a couple weeks.

Hey Justin your rig changed colors?? I may be able to go and do a shake down run for my axle rebuild. Should have it done by Sat. The snow that is a problem is up on top. It gets in big drifts and stays awhile. Your right the lower stuff should be gone.
I'll confirm later this week.

This rig is my dads 80, not to be confused with his 60. I left my 80 in the bay so It can get some sliders! I have this black beast for a couple weeks. Get that axle done:wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench: so you can come play:steer:, and vote on the day!!!

Alright, since no one but me wants to vote:p....we will go on Sunday. So far its just myself in the above LX450 and Brett in his LX450.

Meeting time is 9:15am at the trail head and rolling out at 9:30am
Directions to the trail head are in the link posted in post #1
You have an extra day now @Krusty Krab so no excuses!!!:deadhorse:

I've got a bunch of seats for anyone who wants to come along with me. Should be a fun day with some snow:steer:

Your right-No excuses. Here goes one-I have put it off cause the garage is too cold:rolleyes::princess::p. I was planning on getting things back together on Friday. I can't go this Sunday as much as I would like to. You guys have a great time. Remember the pictures. Be interesting to see how much snow is on top by the lake. If you can make it that far.:hmm::zilla:

Should be an interesting trip up there, the 80 has a tendency to sink in the snow so if it gets too deep we can air down and use my ARB compressor to air back up. And i may have some people coming with me as well, they are pretty squirrelly so i will have to tow straps ready to pull them out.

Not sure if anyone ended up going, I was unable to attend due to getting home too late the night before...

I ended up going with just my 80 with my roommates. We followed the trail past the first and second areas you can camp. We gave up after a snow/mud hill. The 80 made it up fine but my roommates (on dirt bikes) struggled greatly and I really didn't want to get stuck in snow without someone there to yank me backwards. A jeep on 37s and a first gen 4 runner on 40s decided to turn around at the same spot...so I didn't feel to tempted to press on. And I really just wanted to ride the dirt bikes.

Overall It was a really good day, the weather was perfect. And I only ate s*** on the dirt bikes twice:D

I almost forgot that I ran into a guy in a new 2016 Rubicon jk....that was lost...you can literally turn around and see effing Reno...and he was lost...some people:bang:

Hey Justin looks like a fun day weather on bikes or in the LC. I didn't think about the mud:mad:. It's good I didn't go since on the short run around the hills by my place I had a few issues:bang:. Minor and fixed but wouldn't have wanted to be away form home and have it happen.
You better wash that rig before your dad sees it;). Thanks for posting the pics. Flex!!!
