Any way to fix the loose hub caps? I have like 8 of them that all rattle. Just chuck 'em? Or is there any way to "fix" them?

dab hot glue or of E-6000 adhesive? double stick foam tape? all are super quick fix and easily reversible....or simply take them off. mine have been off for 5yrs

I inserted small metal tabs between the metal retainer clips and plastic hubcap body (I had in my junk bin) and rattles stopped. The pressure exerted by the wedge on the spring keeps the cap tight.

That was 2.5 years ago and roughly 18k miles. Also had them rotated at least three times. The repair has held.

Problem solved and took roughly 10 minutes total including rummaging for the bits.

Any chance you can pull one off and take a picture? I have the same issue and some metal tabs would be easy enough to fabricate.

Leaving for vacation in the early am and at work now but will absolutely post some pics when I return. Nice not having rattling caps.

I have not had factory wheels for some time now so I don't recall if they were metal or plastic, but if they are plastic, you may be able "re-shape" them a little with a heat gun so they fit snug again.

Decided to pull my rattling cap and add some duct tape to the 5 points. It does seem to get it more snug. But it's definitely not as tight as a new one. Which btw, OEM new caps are 50 bucks each! Mr Toyota sure loves his Hubcaps! :meh:
