Hub and knuckle question

I'm replacing the front wheel bearings on my '74 40 and unfortunately found a part in the bottom of my parts washer that I cannot id. It is a very thin washer (one per side) and must have been packed in the grease somewhere. It is not pictured anywhere in the FSM, nor can I find it in diagrams of the Warn locking hubs. Here is what it looks like.

I suspect it goes under the snap ring on the Warn hub. Look familiar to anyone?

As long as I am this far into the mess, I am considering replacing the knuckle bearings as well. I don't know when they were last replaced (if ever). Is there a way to tell if they need to be replaced?

Not sure on the washer. As far as knuckle bearings...do they feel like they have a flat spot when you turn the knuckles by hand. The flat will be worn in the "straight ahead" position.

i just did the bearings on my blazer with warn hubs and if i remember wright, the washer went on the splined gear piece, then put it in the housing piece, then the snap ring. thats how it was when i took it apart anyway.
