OK, so we don't have the 15-million dollar marketing program, but we do try our best with what we have and also know that it's all about scale-realism. R/C was born out of passion for full-size motorsports and while all the "energy drinks" have been "guzzled down" we wanted present a different approach to cross-over appeal. TIRES!!!

So we are super-stoked to be working directly with MAXXIS International!!!

Officially Licensed Maxxis Trepador Comp Belted Tires come mounted on a set of satin chrome MK.10 wheels with simulated bead-locks.


CHARACTERS

Dude on the left is Scott G, long time partner in my rally escapades - The Gravel Crew. He is a super fabricator turned do-it-all media guy and has a long history in off-racing as a tire groover for Walker Evans during the Micky Thompson Stadium Era - to working for Robbie Gordon both desert and Dakar programs - to recently managing Tanner Foust's US Rally Rockstar Rally Program with aid from the Gravel Crew - the year Tanner beat both Ken Block and Travis Pastrana at XGAMES Rally, all while flying back and fourth to Europe to work with WRC programs over there.

Dude on the right is Erik Shauver, background in Industrial Engineering and Design, massive mountain bike fanatic and long time Designer at HPI RACING.

Scott G is the guy who hooked us up with MAXXIS.
Erik is the guy who took the MAXXIS data and best translated into R/C tires. And there will be some more "inspiration" to showcase down the road..
The full-size Trepador Competition Bias Tire is part of the Maxxis Competition Division where extreme off-road driving calls for a tough tire. Unique tread element arrangement ensures a uniform tread contact area for sure-footed handling. Multi-stage staggered shoulder pattern provides improved control even on the most difficult off-road and rocky terrain.

These are the design elements that HPI Racing BLITZ designer, Erik Shauver keyed into as he set out to capture both the original design of the Maxxis Trepador Comp Bias while also creating a tire that works within the R/C “scaled” environment. Not a simple task, “It’s not like you just stick a full-size tire design in the copy machine and hit the reduce button,” stated Shauver from his Foothill Ranch, California Design Studio located at the HPI RACING Global R&D Design Headquarters.

While making use of the Maxxis Trepador tread pattern, Erik blended unique design characteristics with inner fabric belting that extends the life of the tire and adds. Also, the tire’s inner-foam is composed of a unique compound and texture which work with the shape of the BLITZ wheel for increased performance. Our 1:10 scale Maxxis Trepador tires are well suited for a wide range of environmental conditions.
