Is there a way i can tell what tank i might have in my truck? I went to fill it up the other day and i put over 30 gallons of gas in it. apparently the stock tank only holds 23.x gallons. my first thought was holy crap it must be leaking....but i didnt see any leaks... my second thought was holy crap 140 bucks!
thanks for your help. the tank underneath looks to be just a large squareish metal tank. it has three bolts protruding from the bottom one had a rubber grommet between it and the metal surface of the tank....oh and my thrid thought was....where the heck am i going to put a spare.....

Yeah that is not the stock tank. Check your mileage and see if it makes sense. The best option for a spare is a bumper mounted tire carrier thats swings open. Did you just buy it? You get any receipts?

are you riding around without a spare? Congrats on having the larger tank. Any switches on the dash that you do not know what they go to? :)

yes for now til i locate a rim and tire. This truck isnt needed for daily commutes to work as i have a company truck(08 f150 4x4). The PO told me his PO installed a electric fuel pump...there is a switch on the dash next to the rear wiper switch that turns this on. It doesnt have to be on in order for the truck to run....perhaps its an auxillary transfer pump or something...or its just in case the mechanical pump breaks. I'm not sure.

ive had this for about 3 weeks. I didnt get any reciepts. Im not sure if the kid i bought it from cared because he was going to turn it into a rock crawler. but that never materialized. there is alot of small things that need to be done that he didnt do because he was less than motivated to fix them. For example the fuel fill hose was repaired with duct tape. nice touch but 100mph tape is not gas proof.

Man, I really don't like the thought of you driving around without a spare and a jacked up fuel tank situation. Send me your tank and I'll give you my stock tank.......for free. I'll even throw in the factory spare tire mechanism so you can put your spare underneath.

Seriously, how can you possibly pass this up!
