Hi everyone,

I just installed a new motor on my dryer. I can't seem to get the spring clips back on. They were easy enough to get off with a screwdriver, but getting them on is a pain.

It seems all I need is 2-3 more millimetres.

Any ideas how to get these little devils back on?

Thanks in advance.

Here are some pics. One of a clip by itself and two of it placed where it is supposed to be attached.

Are you sure snap ring pliers would work on these? The ends seem too far apart.

That was my first thought as well. I've spent hours trying that though, and it hasn't worked for me.

If you are trying to get just a few more milimeters, you may want to try to straighten out of couple of the small kinks in the clamp. I noticed that you have some holes in the bottom of the dryer. I would get some heavy wire and run it throug the holes and make a loop. Then take a huge philips screwdriver, rest the tip in the wire loop while resting the shaft in the bottom curl of the clamp. Press down, this should get you a lot of leverage. If you still need another milimeter, take a large pair of channel locks and squeeze between the the 2 points marked in the picture while pressing down on the screwdriver. That should either get it on or give you a couple of bloody knuckles. You may also want to look into getting a new spring clip.
