How to (re-)enable navigation map breadcrumb trail list on my 2015 LC200 Sahara?

My map used to show red dots along the route I've driven, which saved us getting lost a few times in maze-like bush and mining areas - it stopped working when I disconnected my battery to re-set my tailgate motors...

Here's the only photo I could find from when it was working (I thought it was funny that we found a place where the GPS didn't know any roads were... but you can still see the breadcrumbs)

Does anyone know how to turn this back on again? I've very carefully gone through every menu I can find (no luck) and I'm beginning to wonder if it's something that the previous owner might have enabled, or maybe one of the things I asked the "key guy" to turn on when I watched him with his ODB-II tool while he was cutting me a spare key... (I forget all the things now - auto-open and auto-close of windows when holding the key remote unlock/lock buttons I do remember asking him to enable...)

I'm not entirely sure what this feature might be called - “breadcrumbs” or “breadcrumb trail” seem obvious, but additional terms people use might be:
  • Track logs
  • Trip logs
  • Vehicle trace
  • Navigation trace
  • Route dots
  • Breadcrumb feature
  • Driving record

Thanks *HEAPS* for that clue - the notice "this feature is available when the map scale is 50km or less" is almost certainly the cause of not being able to get this back on (I'll update tomorrow - kids borrowed my car to go camping so cannot test right now).
