Alright, I feel a little silly asking this question when so many of your are disassembling your rigs to the ground, but...I need to do some touch up paint to stop rust around my Landcruiser emblem on the rear panel, but I don't want to break the emblem, because it's a cool diesel one. So how do I pop that thing off and get it back on?

is this the 4wd emblem on a 60? its plastic and held on by two pegs that go into two little metal clips that pop into two holes in the tailgate. if there is rust around the emblem the two holes are probably rusty. you will see when you pop it off....

lol... never mind I only read your first sentence...

open the rear cargo side panel and push the pegs out while someone on the outside helps pull it off carefully.

You will see areas on the inside of the panel that need some spray oil too. That side panel just pops off with a flat screwdriver.

thanks brown bear. That seems like the way to go. There's really not much rust on my rig at all except around that emblem, it's a little nasty. I don't think it goes all the way through except where the pegs go through, and I don't want to break them off.

If your emblem has adhesive on the back, heat the face of it with a hair dryer or heat gun. I do this every time I need to remove emblems or stickers from anything. Hair dryers get pretty hot, and work great for removing those annoying price tags or bar code stickers from all the cool stuff you buy.
