Press the "DISP" switch.
From the display quality adjustment screen, touch the corners of the screen in the following order: upper left → lower left → upper left → lower left → upper left → lower left.
From what I can see it is strictly there to show the status of everything. I don't see any options to bypass the function of typing in address or phone numbers while driving.
