Hi folks,
Title says it all. I'm getting close to being able to drop my new engine into Project Lazarus ('05 LX), but I've got a question about the flanges on the catalytic converters that my headers will meet up to.
I pulled the old gaskets off & cleaned up the surface with a 80 grit nylon rotary brush, and this is what I'm seeing.
Is this smooth enough that the new round metal gaskets will seal? (the thick metal crush-gasket only sits in that circular depression around the pipe itself). Is there an intermediate sealant I should use as well to coat the gasket surfaces? Unfamiliar with exhaust work in general.
