In an effort to lessen the financial blow that converting to a manual tranny's going to be, I plan to sell my auto when I'm done. It's in outstanding condition, shows absolutely no signs of age/wear, and has been maintained religiously. BUT, it has 212K miles on it. Any ballpark ideas on how much I could get for it?

Depending on how the output shaft looks and where the part is (if there are a lot of Cruisers in your neck of the woods who may need this, you'll do better), I'm guessing between 450-750 bucks.

I think Cruiserparts.net sells them for 750 and you never know how many miles they had on theirs...

Wow, that's way better than what I thought it'd be worth. That'd help a lot if I could find someone who'd want it.

I'll be writing up a how-to guide as I go along, complete with pics and results once it's all completed. Hopefully I'll be able to get it done before my next deployment, but my budget might not allow for that.

Spook50,

I'd really be interested in how you keep the starter switch wire working when you finish the conversion. I had my A440 swapped a year ago. The old saying, "If you want something done right ......" comes to mind a lot. I have not been able to get my Cold Start Ingector working since the swap. The shop that did the swap clipped a lot of the harness wires that were'nt used on the manual shift and so I can't trace what used to be there.

Good luck w/ the swap.

You mean the neutral start switch? I haven't put much thought into it at this point, but I'm hoping it'll be something simple to do. I'm not sure if it has to be grounded for the starter to crank, or if being grounded causes the starter not to crank, but I don't foresee much of a problem with that. Won't know for sure until I get up in there though.
