Never done it, but heard form a few guys that they paid $1300 - $1500, but that was a year ago and there may be cheaper aftermarket options by now.

I haven't replaced one for light years, but both the last two times I did it was cheaper to have the home town glass shop cut a tinted safety glass than buy a genuine Toyota glass!!!

Mine a year ago was $1.6K.
However the prices have come down since then.

I only had to pay $50 to my insurance company though, and they picked up the rest.

I talked to an All Star Autoglass guy today doing a windshield at work for someone.
They still recommend getting the $300 plastic piece at the top of the windshield, as taking off the current one gets damaged most of the time.

yep mine is toast!

1,200 but with my insurance $500 decutable still too much.....so it's still all cracked up and just from one rock that hit from the very bottom of my wind sheild:mad:

Dave,

Lylia's was replaced shortly after she got it - $1500 as I recall! I bought the top trim piece and the installer didn't use it - let me know if you need it.

I've always had Full glass coverage on my vehicles the extra $6.00 every 6 months I feel is worth it to not have to pay anything for the windsheild if it breaks. but mine hasn't broke yet.

Issurance paid for it.........I dont think I paid more than $200, It may have even been free I think I have full glass coverage......can't remember.

I own a glass shop in arkansas. When they first came out they were oem only, you would of payed about 650 to 1000 in my area. Now you have aftermarkets out and looking at around 325. Now, every town will have different prices. Definately check around for prices, and always ask what kind of warranty they carry. After they give a price and you decide to go with them let them know right then just how picky you are. They will probably send there best installer, and he will most likely keep this in mind while replacing. Been replacing for nineteen years.

we had one done on a Team truck a few weeks back in Spokane....$325 out the door....they DID save the top trim....an experienced glass shop should be able to....

Thanks for the info guys. I went with a local shop (Royal) who did it for $235. The guy has done many FJCs and didn't damage the moldings. He used a PPG windshield. I used them many years ago to do my '88 MR2 with satisfaction.

$435 Jims Glass, Main Street, Chula Vista, California...complete...excellent job...
