How many test cycles does it take to clear a permanent OBDii code?

I had a check light show the P043E code and I cleared it a few time, but the code is also stored as a permanent code now.

Does anyone know how How do I get that cleared?

IIRC, the only way for a permanent DTC to clear is for the computer to resolve the issue on its own. I believe the 200 has 7-8 systems under the OBD II and each system has its on self-check criteria requirements which vary from idle time, start stop cycles, non-stop driving time, the list is extensive and specific to each system. The EVAP module in my experience on my 200 takes the longest to reset.

Thanks,

It's really hard to find out how often it checks and how many successful cycles it takes to reset the evap codes.
These codes do not show up on the cheep OBDii scan, but they are showing up one the deeper scan of the system.
I also saw the code for unplugged rear entertainment display unit.

Here is some more general info that might give you an idea. I don't have access to anything Toyota specific at the moment. When I was dealing with an EVAP/SAS issue last year, I remember the EVAP requiring more than a few trips to clear. My scan tool listed out the criteria required to complete the full monitor test cycle but I didn't print it out/save for future reference.

Thanks !!

Looks like based on that table at least 3 trips.
