I am getting some quotes to regear and add lockers to my 2001. First shop quoted me at 26 hours total to regear and add lockers, including the compressor and wiring. Does this seem about right? $2500 in labor was a bit more than I was expecting.

What shop did you go to? I checked labor guide from Snap on and each axle is about 8-9 hours this does not include installing the compressor and running wires but 26 hours is overkill in my opinion. I have done a bit of axle rebuilding and regear and i could beat book time most of the time having the right tools help,i have not installed air lines to the housing but it should not take you more than 3 hours to run wires and an airline to each diff.housing i'm sure someone will chime in on how long it take to install the pump and air lines. shop around before you part with your hard earned cash.
