Anyone know how many micron the factory filter is. I purchased a racor water seperator/filter which is 2 micron and was going to put it before the factory filter but was thinking shouldn't the racor go last as I'm sure that it has finer filtration than the factory one. should I take out the factory and get a cheap 30 micron one to go in the line before the racor? should I put the racor before the factory one or after? take out the factory one Any sugestions on this?

Its kind of a Micron verses gallon per minute, you need to flow the right amount and the micron should be less than the factory filter (not sure the factory micron?)

Common guys, someone knows the answer?????

 I'm not sure of the factory micron size but i'll bet the 15 to 30 range. If i were you i would put the racor first in line. You want the lower rating first. If you restict the flow to the injection pump you will be sorry. That pump needs lubrication at all times and we know how much they cost. All aviation engines are configured in this manner. I know it just sounds wrong but if you really think about it the second filter acts like a resevoir by allowing full flow at all times. You will still see alot of gunk getting by the 2 micron filter and getting caught in the factory filter. A good differential gauge at the racor is also something you'll want as they are very hard to see. Dirty looking diesel is sometimes cleaner than the apple juice looking stuff it all depends on the wax in suspension within the diesel.

Cheers
