I have some rotted (AKA rusted) tranny cooler lines in my salt-hag-ridden 2000LC. Leaking some Toyota ATF on the driveway. How big a job is the replacement of the lines? Is there an option other than the Toyota replacement lines, they seem a bit spendy?

I haven't replaced mine so I can't comment on the difficulty, but you can always check with a local hydraulic shop for some custom lines (usually cheaper than OEM). Same for brake/clutch lines.

It depends on how many Monkies are working on it.:hillbilly::lol:

Just kidding, post a pic of where the leak is coming from.

I am attempting to attach pictures. I had not looked for the leak myself, choosing to trust my mechanic. It seems that the leak is in the connections between the rubber and the rigid metal lines directly in front of the passenger side of the radiator (also seems to be in front of the AC cooling fan). It seems to me that this relatively short section of rigging tubing cannot be too expensive. I will check with Toyota

If it lasted 16 years just spend the money and get OEM and be done with it. As my wife would say "don't be so cheap"
