Hello... Long time viewer here from SF bay area.... I have a '99 with 148,000 miles + on it. Recently drove from SF to Vegas and back during the holidays and planning a trip to Vancouver, BC this summer. Haven't had any major problems (knock on wood) besides replacing the O2 sensors a few years back, instrument drive "D" light indicator, and driver side seat elevation adjustment motor. (Belts replaced @ the 90k mark)...So, to make it short, do any of you guys still drive your high mileage LCs anywhere far; over 1k miles or close to it. Thank you....

The answer is a resounding yes. Just make sure you are up on ALL PM's.

Are you crazy???

With +155k on the ODO, I take my broken and busted LX all over the place. Last trip was 700 miles of ghost towns, from sea level to 10k (well, 9.8k), unmarked trails, some improved roads, and winter storms looming. Never had a doubt or a worry over the 4 day trip.

195k on mine and we did a 4,300 mile trip this past fall.

190k on mine and I drove it from SW Montana to Maine to WV and back this summer without even the slightest problem. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere get in and go!

I just took three 100 series cruisers on a long trek here in Kyrgyzstan. Each had around 200K and I guarantee that they do not get the maintenace our rigs get back in the states. Plus the roads are terrible over here. I was impressed by how tight each of them was and mine was even a 5 speed. :)

You replaced your D light indicator - amateur!

Thats the first thing I thought, too. D-light mod FTW!

Haven't had the opportunity to stretch the 100's legs yet, but I have a feeling that a 2000+ mile trip out west will definitely be happening this summer if all goes well. 140K on mine, no concerns. Bear in mind that these vehicles are built with the intention of a 300K+ mile lifespan. They aren't RAV4s. ;)

I have a low mileage 100 but 241k on my 80 and did a 3500M this last summer in that truck, planning another 1200 week after next.

Get real:
200 k miles / 300 k km is NOT high milage!!! ??? wtf:doh:

I have a daily driver with 1,000,000 plus miles on it, that has been around the world twice. On the water i just did circles on the boat. :-O

When I was driving through Asia, i took it up AND down Everest. Didnt even need to use the locking diff! ;-)

The interior is still good as new, and I am on my second set of tires. Still my gas mileage is not great, but i love it anyway!

All kidding aside, I replaced a Range Rover with my current Land Cruiser, and I have never even thought twice about going anywhere. Ever. Forest Service Roads, backcountry, you name it. Long miles on the highway just go like nothing, this thing is so comfortable.

It is not even as though the maintenance is that expensive or difficult.

I love my reliable, uncommon, unique Land Cruiser.

180k, did a 8.5k mile cross country and back road trip this summer.

Typos sent from my HTC EVO using the IH8MUD app...

I have no doubt a Cruiser will last a LONG TIME, but I think we need proof or verification with claims like this!

any more info on your trip and pictures?

About 1200 between all of the travelers, but mostly of the scenery.

Here are 3.

This is the only thing I've been allowed to drive while in country. She could have used a couple hundred more hp. Top speed was about 5 mph, but the four hoof steering, built in traction control and sleek lines were first rate. She does need some emissions equipment installed.

It was actually a lot of fun. :)

The link below best explains why I was there.
