How hard would it be to have this site automatically resize pictures when you upload

them? Other sites I frequent and upload pics have software or programs or whatever that automatically resize your pictures. I can upload a 3 mb picture and it automatically cuts it down to a couple hundred kb. When I load pictures to mud, I spend a lot of time resizing and reducing quality and resaving so as not to corrupt the original, all in order to load a pic here. I know I can use imageshack and similar programs and use the url to upload but I guess I'm stubborn and don't want yet another website just for pictures.

Is it a cost issue or what?

I've got the forum set to allow 3 images to display....resetting that to one would allow the resize feature to work, but many folks like the option of uploading 3 at a time.

it's also a processor speed issue....not sure it would matter with the hardware installed here tho..

Ah, that makes sense. I know nothing of programming or software but was just wondering if that was possible.

Recently I have been uploading to photobucket. It auto resizes, has quick linking and really is less steps than opening in an editor and resizing to post on Mud.
