How does a millermatice 250 stack up to newer 210s 251s?

Should be good, but I remember somrthing going on with Miller's 250 amp development that resulted in several model variations and a lot of disgruntled owners. It went on for a while before they settled down with the 251. All the BS and complaining at the time was the reason I backed away by buying a 210.

Best I can suggest is that you go here: http://www.hobartwelders.com/mboard/ and start reading/asking about them.

That's the Hobart supplied forum and there is a Miller supplied forum too (as well as dozens of other welding/fab forums), but it seems like there's more knowledgeable discussion in Weld Talk than in the miller site. Maybe it's just me.

Many users complained about the arc quality of the 250.. Many users of Millermatic 200 had upgraded to the 250, but complained because the arc was very harsh and not soft like the Millermatic 200.... Many regard the MM200 as having one of the best arc qualities.
MM 251 quickly replaced 250 and 250X. 251 is a good welder.

Millermatic 210 does/did not have any issues like the 250 or 250X.
