how difficult to replace the odometer cable?

Pete's making some noise, and man its gonna drive me nuts fast. Advise would be great how too's what to expect

Pete here with 320K miles with some parts starting to wear out
 
It's not too hard.

Remove gauge cluster.
Unclip cable from back of speedo. (Look on the replacement cable to see how the clip works.)
Remove cable from transfer case. (Need to remove skid plate first.)

Note on reinstall - easiest is to install the speedo end first, transfer case end second.
 
The hardest part is dealing with that rubber seal on the floor :mad:
 
Make sure on install that your new one isn't too close to the exhaust. I think there's a clip down there to keep it from laying over on a hot surface.
