This should be in the porn section! Great job, GLWS!

This should be in the porn section

Well It’s lipstick color!
Paint runs everywhere… Over spray where they didn’t remove wiring and the basic components before sending it off to earl shive. Some odd black metal part covering something in the rear. Wrong seats. This year had no roll bar, also didn’t have the fuel door setup that is off a much newer 40. Heater is missing the hoses and they painted over the darn plastic handle that takes literally one second to remove….

I could go on but hopefully I’ve saved someone from getting takin advantage of. if this was priced around 20k I’d say GLWS, but to ask 80k and call this a restoration is nuts…

I am in the process of redoing a 1971 FJ40 right now. I and some other guys that are in the process of redoing theirs would greatly appreciate you uploading some images of yours so that we would know what perfection looks like. Mine is going to be a driver / user, not a trailer queen that gets hauled to concourse car shows, but it would still help to know what perfection looks like. Thanks in advance.

I’m not the ….. trying to sell a 20k car for 80k on a forum full of very educated Landcruiser enthusiasts. I daily drive a FJ40 and use the piss out of it. Mine will never be a show ride but I would drive it across the country tmrw if I needed to. This week alone it has been from Sacramento to Tahoe and back 5 days in a row.

I have seen way too many people pop up on this forum with their new FJ40 that they just purchased and it was a complete rip off. I will continue to call out sellers asking unrealistic prices ….to make sure nobody on MUD gets takin advantage of.

Here is a picture of my 10k daily driver….If anyone wants to give me 80k for it I’ll keep the dogs and throw in my X wife…

Oh I've seen what a $100k or $250k Land Cruiser from the FJ Company looks like, and I have a great deal of respect for their work. But what I want to see is a LOT of pics of your rig, including detailed close ups, because you can bet you're a-- I and many of the guys I talk to on here would NEVER talk the sh-t about someone else's build the way YOU did about a rig in a Classified for Sale like you did if our rig wasn't 100% PERFECTION! I went back and looked VERY closely, on a BIG monitor screen, and zoomed in, and I may be older but I didn't see the paint runs you referred to or the overspray. Is it a 100% perfect restoration? NO! But they NEVER claimed it was. They improved where they could, like the spray in bed liner underneath and in the floorpan and inside.

GROW UP. My only thought is... It must suck to be you! If you find your self worth in trying to bring others down rather than appreciating the time, money, and effort they put into their project... then YOU need HELP.

I pity you.

Anyone else agree with me???

Let me help you since you have no idea what you’re talking about. This is just from a quick glance on my phone. For 80k not one of these issues should be visible from a phone.

Ps has absolutely nothing to do with perfection… Has everything to do with making sure people don’t get takin advantage of.
