Hi guys,
I was wondering if there is an LSLC chpater in Houston, and if so, if there was any way someone down there might be willign to help me out on a project I've got going on.
Long story short, I've got a container with two BJ45 Troopys in it that just hit port in Houston. I was planning on having them move via rail to Denver & picking up the trucks here. But I recently learned that the inland fees for the rail from there to here are just shy of 3 grand, and money is extremely tight right now (laid off a while back, a different long story), so I'm thinking of having the container terminated in Houston & using airline points to fly down & drive them back.
The thing is that doing this would save a lot of money, but open up a whole new set of problems, so to speak. I would need to find a place that I can get the trucks devanned from the container, then I need to get them started again (shipped with no oil, no fuel & the battieries disconeccted). Once that is done, I basically still need to find a safe place to leave the one truck while I drive the first one home & then fly back down for it, etc...
My wife's corp. HQ is in Dallas, so she's knows some people there that might be willing to help if it came to it, but we don't really know anyone in Houston, so I'm sort of just trying to find any possible options that could make this work, and I figured there might be a few Cruiser heads in Houston that don't mind pitching in to help a stranger, if it is cruiser related.
So, do any of you guys possibly have any ideas that could make this work? Even if you can't personally help, maybe you know a guy that could/would? Or even just a guy with a storage yard at work or something like that?
Many thanks for any & all insights or advice!
Best,
Abe
