About to dive into the oil pump gasket/front crank seal/dizzy o-ring as well and looking forward your thoughts. My wheels look like how your's used to and I want to dip them, but was waiting until I got new tires. Did you have any issue with scraching up the dip when the tires are changed out?

Nice truck and great thread. I lived in CT and spent some time in Summit Co and have recently picked up an 80 (and ski a lot) so it's fun to read. Also used my first shot ski this winter in VT : ). Nice work. Oh, also have chrome stock LX wheels that I'm in process of plasti dipping. Uncanny.

looks like shes coming along nicely. i have the same LED bar and it works great! i used it last weekend and had it on for over 2 hours straight with no problems

I actually bought the LED bar after reading your thread and doing a little research. it fit my budget and was the perfect size. stoked to hear its working out for you.

thanks! i actually thought that the wheels would get scraped more when i had the tires changed out and i had planned on just repainting them, but i didnt even have to touch them up. there was no visible damage to the paint at all.

summit was amazing this year, breck specifically got the most snow out of anyone up here. We hit 440" before we closed. Jackson was epic too, spent 5 days ski touring and riding the resort there this year and it was so worth it. Expecting a foot tonight so the basin should be good tomorrow!

started to tear into the truck last night and i have to say that working on the oil pump gasket and front crank seal with the radiator out is completely cheating!! it was so easy to access everything its ridiculous. i sat up top, so i obviously didnt have to unhook the steering stabilizer because there was so much room from the top. I found a decent philips #3 bit that i wasnt totally sure was going to work, but the amount of space made it so easy to hammer the bit into the screw heads and they all came loose extremely easy. I was waiting on torx screws to replace them but they were all perfect so i reused them and will just hold onto the torx for if i ever need to go back in. Crank seal was pretty much the same story since it was so easy to get to.

so last night I replaced the dizzy o-ring, oil pump gasket, front crank seal and thats about as far as i got. today i need to spend some time cleaning a little more, put the crank bolt back on, get the new rad in and refill.

FAIL it looks exactly like my heater valve, it was basically falling apart

I sadly didn't get to clean nearly as much because this is my DD and I couldn't afford to have it down and ran out of degreaser. But I think I'm gonna spray it down this week and clean some more.

The offending parts. The oil pump gasket basically just cracked and crumbled out.

It was also easy to put the new one in with all the room. I know I've read that people have a hard time getting theirs to stay in place but this literally took me 5 seconds and it was on and lined up

also test mounted the 4xinnovations cat skid. super beefy, bolt on. still need to buy some DOM but looks like its gonna line up nice with the skid and other mounts.

just dropped some tube in to see the fit and the angle down the body line

all cleaned up

not a whole lot new with the truck, been car camping and exploring with it a little. Put a little over 1k on it since the rad, oil pump seal, crank seal yada yada and all is well, dry as a bone. Looks like my rear main/arch seal are leaking more now though.

went for a little drive up Hoosier Pass just south of breck after work today

drove until i hit this....

went for a drive out through Montezuma, CO up to Webster Pass. still too much snow to cross the creek but still fun out there.

ran most of chihuahua gulch last sunday. not many pictures of the trail but great scenery

and we hiked up to chihuahua lake

drove back up Mt Baldy after work yesterday to see if the snow had finally melted and it had. Made it as far up as i could. watched a crazy storm roll through town and clear up.

tried to run mosquito pass yesterday from Alma to Leadville. Wayyy too much snow up there to make it across though.
