I was curious if anyone has access to a Hotsy or other high-temp pressure washer? I'm willing to rent or pay for the service. I'd like to wash off the underside of my truck from all the transfer-case oil residue... I'm about to pull it to rebuild the transfer case and would love a cleaner working environment plus a clean transfer case.

No suggestions, but you are definitely doing the right thing. I put mine way up in the air on jack stands and soaked it in purple power for a few hours, then blasted it with a commercial pressure washer. Got it nice and clean, definitely worth the effort. Probably 50lbs of gunk caked under the truck. Huge plus if you can find someone who will do it at their place so you don't have to deal with the mess. I also pulled the alternator and did the engine bay as well.

Yeah, simple green and a normal temp pressure washer are my backup option... but the high temp washers really do the job. I really don't want to have to clean the tranny and t-case by hand once off the truck...

I recommend the steam cleaning service at Deluxe Detail and Tint in Mesa. I first took my truck there almost 15 years ago prior to painting the undercarriage and went back there a few months ago for a refresh. Same owner after all those years, which I appreciate. They'll put your truck on a rack and melt that grease and oil away. I splurged for both the undercarriage and engine detail, which was $120 with website coupon. This was prior to a birfield job and a power steering pump rebuild, so it was nice to work on clean parts. Afterward I touched up the frame, axles, and wheel wells with a fresh coat of spray paint. Good for another 15 years (at least here in Arizona).

This was exactly the kind of recommendation I needed. Thanks!

I would have paid 3x that much to not have to go through what I did on my 80’s... though in the end it was still worth it, this sounds way more worth it
