NooB needs help. The hose that connects under the Lower Inside Radiator hose blew and I had to make an emergency stop at a tire repair shop. They were kind enough to replace the hose for me but now it leaks at the top connection, just under the Lower Inside Radiator hose top connection. Does anyone know the name of that hose? And it looks like a real bear to reconnect it, any advice? Pic of the Radiator hoses and one of my FJ40. Thanks.

If I understand correctly, you need the OEM #16571-61050 (no cooler) or this 16571-61070 (with cooler) radiator side part. But the 61070 seems to be disco, so maybe it is just the 61050 part?.....contact @beno for help and ordering.

For OEM part numbers, this is a good locator > Toyota EPC <

Thanks GA Architect and 78FJ40mg for your input. After more research I believe I didn't give you all enough info to help me. I believe the hose I need is the one which connects to the water pump with cooler. I found an image (see attached) on line that I think is what I'm trying to identity. So, if it is the line from the water pump would anyone know what hose (model #) I need? And do I need to remove the fan to be able to replace/attache it? Thanks.

Thats a tricky hose to deal with... iirc, the alternator is right up next to that hose, if its a new hose maybe the clamp is loose, give it a tightening? Removing the fan and fan clutch gives better working space.

There is no number shown... it is to the lower right below the clamp #50. The hose is about three inches long, slight arc. Getting the hose clamps aligned such that you can run a tool to tighten them is key, also check that the belts run clear of any clamps.

Thanks micruz60. Yes "tricky", can't get a visual on it because of its location. I've tightened the clamp with a screwdriver but couldn't really get good leverage so I think I'll try again tomorrow with a bit on a ratchet. But might need to remove the fan and fan clutch as you've suggestion so that I have more room to work. Also, Do you know if that hose is just a standard hose or is it a modeled hose specifically for that application? Thanks.

Moving the alternator might be the ticket instead of the fan and fanclutch. I do not have a specific part # on the hose, but it is just under three inches long with 5/8" i.d.

micruz60 I try moving he alternator and see if that gives me enough room. Its got to help. Also, when I looked at the SOR diagram I didn't see the 3" hose you referred to. I did see a hose listed as part #4. But I don't think that's what you're referring to. Part #4 is much longer than 3". And its also "discontinued". Boo!

@Rev7 yeah, that Specter drawing is illustrating the setup... Some have a metal pipe 'intermediate' from the small hose we're discussing, over to another hose, to the oil cooler. Check that your setup is either a match to the drawing with hose #4 or then its time to get creative and find a matching replacement?

micruz60, Hose clamp now tight but noticed a small leak coming from the weep hole on the water pump. This could actually been my problem all along as the weep hole leaks down to where the suspected loose hose clamp is located. Its not leaking a ton, just a steady little stream trickling down. Is this an indicator the water pump is on its way out and needs replaced? Or could be a result of loosing all the coolant (hose burst and was while driving it and then was replaced) but now that all is fixed will reestablish its seal and stop "weeping" (wishful thinking)? If I need to replace the WP, any recomendations?

micruz60, I didn't notice the WP leading (weep hole) before the coolant hose blowout. Wondering if there is a cause & affect connection.

That weep hole is the indicator that the WP is indeed going to fail. One place to shop is with @beno (our parts genius)
Do you have any background on the maintenance of the rig? One part failing can indicate a whole bunch of snowball effect. Any spongy, bulging, oil saturated hoses gotta go. All sorts of tips and tricks on this site. Fan shroud mod, others.
Looks great by the way

Ok, new WP + gaskets, new thermostat + gaskets, and all new hoses ordered. I confess that I was so excited when I bought the rig I didn't look as closely as I could/should have at it. There are a few things that aren't quite OEM under the hood. That' will drive me nuts! So I'll be doing a few projects this winter. But that's part of the fun, right. Thanks again for your help.

Probably... I have no idea what your setup is. If there is the intermediate metal pipe, then you would need to remove it.
