Hey my horn stopped working on the way home from the mountains. It seems to be working intermittently but mostly not. I think its the clock spring in the steering wheel. what do you guys think? also anybody have any steps to fix that. maybe some pictures?

Thanks
Robert

I would first check the fuse.

Then the horn relay.

It's not a Dodge.

Since you have the 3FE, then it's not the head gasket.

I figured out what it was. the wire that powers the two horns broke off. ( it think the wire was corroded or something but it was still weird because it would occasionally work. I put a new connector on it and plugged it back in and it works fine now. soo strange I thought 10000% it would have been the clock spring in the steering wheel for the horn button the way it was acting.

Haha I love the 3fe I worked on one with a friend that was in a fj62 and fell in love. I am probably the only person that actively searched for an early 1991 or 1992 fj80 powered by a 3fe.
