Today I braved the winter storms here in the south east to go and get some essentials from the grocery store.(beer) When I returned to my LC the horn was blasting away. I opened the car started it and pushed the horn button on the steering wheel. It stopped for about 1.1 second and then came back on. I disconnected it under the hood before driving home. Its too cold for me to look at it tonight. Any thoughts on what it might be? Thanks in advance.:beer:

common problem on that year model cruiser. not sure of the fix. mine kind of just went away. look behind dash on Drivers Side where there is a foot rest. see if there is any corrosion.

Intermittent short to ground? I think the horn actuates on a ground and has constant power. Not sure and I don't have my wiring diagrams in front of me.

Does not sound like the same problem, but I had a Jeep that would blow the horn only on bitter cold nights. Start real week and keep getting louder and longer as the night wore on. My sister said it was cold and asking to come inside. Actually it was the horn button, it would get cold and contract and start making intermittent contact. Finally got to disconecting it on cold nights but eventually moved to Calif and it no longer was an issue.

Look for a windshield leak into the junction box above the dead pedal.

search horn and junction box.
