I need to install one in my truck. Is this an easy DIY or should I hire the services of Uhaul, a mechanic etc.

Linky to a DIY. Any tips?

I already bought the wiring harness. My truck is a 97.

If the install requires an outside mechanic, then it might be time to rethink owning a 14 year old truck :)

Drop the spare (if it's in the way) and figure it out...shouldn't be rocket science (there again, I'm not a rocket scientist, and assume you aren't either)...if you have LED taillights, then expect your cruise control to fail any time you use your signals to change lanes :)

LOL. I'm more mechanically inclined than electrical...

I will give it a shot. Sure somebody will still provide a DIY link for this.

thanks.

THe adaptor I bought went in the harness inside the fender behind the passenger side tail light. Wasn't much of a challenge, if I remember correctly. Might check there first...

The hoppy should be a plug and play to the truck's wiring harness inside the PS rear quarter panel. One wire over to the DS rear quarter panel and the connector out a hole down under the PS.

I just installed the same brand 3 months ago. It is very easy plug and play and even with the very old instructions mine had it was simple drop the spare and have fun.
