That is proof that God is wise.
Did I tell you about the gear oil puddle on the floor of my shop that looked like the Virgin Mary? Nothing short of a miracle.

ugh...30 days!

Ive got the itch back for wheeling after getting a chance to push the 4runner on new to me trails on PYS. First time in a couple years im exited to hit the badlands! Plus joe said they are changing a bunch of stuff at the badlands (quarry mostly).

The down side to my new itch is now I want to build something... so I will either ruin my DD with useless mods, or ruin my 4runner by taking steps sideways...

Thinking about chopping the rear off of the 92 again???

Never, I got over wanting to do that years ago. VERY glad I never did!!!

Ive more been looking into suspension and axles. Suspension: anything from fully rebuildable RR fox shocks, to links. No im not dumb enough to go down that road just yet, by the time I finished with links, RE's, coilovers, bumps, anit-sways, etc.... Id have 5 figures in the suspension, and im not sure what exactly I would gain over what I have now. Plus, whats the point of all that suspension if I cant go fast, so I will need, atleast, custom housing$. So Im just going to replace all my destroyed suspension bushings and im sure Ill be happy again. Maybe some bling shocks, bumps, anti wrap, and anti sway.....

As for Axles: Im just following the momentum gained while I bent 2 housings, blew 3 R&P's, and exploded a dozen trunion bearings, all in about 18 months. But I fixed all those problems, with factory 4.88 thirds, a fully tubed out and gusseted housing, and a proper bump stop design. So unfortunatly I cant justify diamonds right now. :frown:

The funny thing is, this itch came from the truck working so well on PYS, that it got me into this again.... And now that im into it, I want to build something/tear apart the 4runner. Doesnt make much sense...

Tech in clubhouse = turn in punch bowl....

I understand what you are getting at... That 4runner in that post is cool, but a little over the top for me too...

I got a few more things i want to do with my 60( soa and diesel swap), but i will stick with a basic suspension... All that other stuff just makes things more exspensive to fix when you break something in, my opinion...

Ohh and i will be at the Hoe Down, probably friday morning/early afternoon... I am trying to talk a couple of the guys i wheel with into coming out also... Is this a Yota only event ? Just curious, 1 of the guys that might come has a full size Chevy...

I wouldnt consider anything about that 4runner to be over the top (unless you mean, over the top of trees? that thing needs to come waaay down.) Im glad I never chopped my top because I use the cab for gear, and sleeping.

Full size chevy may not fit too well on all the trails.

I think after you do your suspension bushings after a rainy weekend at the cliffs, you'll be cured of your wrenching bug for a while.

at least until the swb gets out of storage in three weeks.

pfft....my goal is to not spin my tires.

thats what im thinking.

I got the itch & this time I did some mods & maintenance & a few little things to make the 4runner work better & that made me totally happy.....really like the way it works now & have no desire to wrench for a while
