I'll put thus question to this group as well. Thoughts? I don't know what Toyota calls these things.

Hood Cushion Supports

Ok, 28 years and one of the rubber hood cushion supports has given way from metal fatigue. The other side isn't much better. Options? Will JB Weld hold it well enough? Welding shop to tack it back in place? It doesn't need to be pretty.

Thx. Think I'd identified the part from Toyota but not sure so ordered 2. Will try washers and double nut method first as I don't weld.

If double nut isn't sufficient, does anyone have a good welding shop they can recommend for a small job? Castle Fabrication in Laguna Hills that fabed my trailer top years ago appears to be closed.

Will give you a call. Got your message. It is thin metal. I can send you some pics to look at. Captive nut is/was in some pretty thin metal.

Got a solid temporary fix on with $4 worth of nuts and fender washers!
