Who said Bush is a "visionary"?

I say he is a visionary. His visions are a result of major cocaine and alcohol abuse, these days compensated by religion.

Can you even imagine how this car would positivily effect peoples lives? 76 MPG, it could help so many people in the lower income budgets.... [/URL]

I don't know many "lower income families" that can afford a 20,000+ dollar accord as it is... let alone one with turbo diesel which would most certainly be even more expensive.

Looks like an awesome car, but I can't afford one if we could get it here.

Who said Bush is a "visionary"? Not I. My question to you is "why does your market parallel ours?" Instead of being angry with Bush (not that there aren't plenty of reasons to be angry), why don't you concentrate on changing Canada's market to allow these higher-efficiency cars? It seems to me that you should be focusing your frustration there.

That's because as easy as it is to pick on George W., our own government is full of a bunch of asses. People who seem to have little or no integrity, and little concern of how their actions affect the people they govern.

I love this country, but everytime we have an election I always feel like I'm choosing the most honest liar of the bunch...and then have to kick myself for my selection later.

Do we really have to bash Bush or talk politics at all here? Hmm. There's way more to this than your hatred for Bush.

I just wanted to show you all what's out there.

Not here yet probably because US diesel can't run the thing. We need better fuel here first. Heard the same thing about Toyota's D4D...

This is what a VW sales guy told me too a few years ago when we were talkin Toureqs. We must have been talking diesel engines because he said the good engines available in Europe wouldn't be coming here any time soon because frankly the fuel sucks in NA.

TY

low sulphur diesel will be here next year. How widely avaiable is the question.

I think once LSD is here is will put hybrids extinct. Europe is lagging on introducing hybrids because they already have diesels that get better mileage then them and are cheaper. Also once the new MPG testing is out the real numbers on hybrid mileage will shock some people.

That's UK gallons, amigo, which translates to the figure mentioned in the first post of the thread.

Damn! of course, they're like the Newfy's about that.

Tyler, he WAS probably commenting about diesel fuel, but the Toureg diesel IS available here now and there aren't a lot of more techie production engines in the world. Someone can likely explain what was lost to enable that beautiful engine to be marketed here?

I would love to see more diesels (and diesel techinolgy) come out of Japan and Europe. I see hybrids as a bandaid; there's no point for me when I drive my vehicle maybe twice a week, but go on plenty of trips down the highway. Hybrids are irrelavant.

I'd like to see more work done with hydrogen as well. :)
