Well since i was off this week, i thought i would knock off a few things on the cruiser to list.

still on the fence over the lid, but i am leaning towards some carpeted plywood floor (like haiffi did)

I had to cut off may cat gaurd, since it interfered with the thicker ipor skid plate. I will pick up some metal and some more gas for the mig welder next week and finish it up.

Eric, that is awesome! What material did you make that storage bin out of?

putting in a hottub? brilliant use of space....

I dig it Eric! I would make a "Pulp Fiction" reference here, but in fear people wouldn't get it I'll keep my mouth shut :)

Gimps in the box sleeping???

Eric,

Love the idea and great use of space. What guage metal did you use? If I didn't have an air tank in that location I would consider the same.

14 gauge.
This is great Eric and might motivate me to actually finish mine.
I had the same idea years ago and had the tub made but never got around to installing it. Then I got some air tanks and can't decide which to stick there.

With mine it was going to use the cut out part as the actually lid, just reinforced from the bottom so it looked stock and it would be like a secret compartment.

i'm still on the fence on where to mount my air tanks.... that's next. I got the plywood cut out and carpeted, i will mount it up tomorrow, still need to get a couple latches for the lids. (home depot closed early today).

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE.!!!

One word... jealous... I've always liked this idea for extra storage space and would love to do the same...

My only project pictures are forthcoming...

more pictures.

here are a few more from today. I need to find some hidden (recessed) pulls for the lid then i can carpet it and call it done.

why not a few finger holes, instead of pulls....cut some wieght, save some cash, breather holes for the victim....etc...

not bad ideas. But, I really wanted something to secure the lid incase of an accident. don't really want the recovery gear and tools flying around the cab when choas strikes.

Northern Tool has a few of these style handles. Something else you might want to look into in the recessed truck tool box latches which allow for security (locking) if you can incorporate them.
