I have a 96' LC and I found an empty hole, which looks like a mounting hole of some sort, on the front RHS of the center console. I called Toyota, assuming a bolt was missing, and they said there is nothing installed in the hole, but possibly was for an accessory for some sort. I took off the center console and found a metal bracket on the other side of the hole for attachment of something. Any ideas?

You mean by the passenger left knee?? There a screw hole there and it should have a screw in it.

I think i know what you are talking about. Are you talking about the bracket i circled in the pic?

Hey dude! Someone took the inside of your truck!!

I agree, there are a number of bolts along the base that are used to attached the console to the floor (although I haven't studied the passenger side in any real detail).

Cheers, Hugh

The bracket highlighted isn't the one I am talking about, but great picture. The one I am referring to is on the Left side of the front passenger seat on the center console. The bolt would install horizontally. There are three other bolts which install vertically to install the center console to the bracket you have highlighted and one farther forward.

Damn, can't hardly see the circle i drew in the pic. Oh, well. Yea, someone stole the inside of my truck! Actually, i decided to do a super clean on the truck and next thing ya know i had everything out of it. Then, i was like, well, i might as well dynamat it while it's bare.

If I am correct on your location, a screw goes there which helps solidify (so it dosent shake/wobble) the front side right side (which would be on the left as sitting in passengers seat) of the armrest console. The rear right side of the shifter console (passenger side) also attaches at that point where the shifter and armrest consoles merge. That is why the bracket is there.

--Ditto. I am about to pull the inside of my 80 for cleaning and would like to clean up some road noise as well...

I did mine up with brownbread. Didnt make squat of a diffrence. Nothin like a waste of $100. Maby dynamat is better?

Man that is an amazing feature, must be a new software upgrade.

Yea, search works so-so..........i did have a post where i described my dynamat experience in more detail. Anyways, short story is.....i just did around the rear wheel wells, over the front floor boards and as best i could over where the front wheels are, along with covering the center console. I noticed a quieter ride and cooler temps around the console. When i install new speakers in the doors, the doors will get dynamat for sure.
