Hey folks,

My dad has an old Cybertig II in working condition that he would like to sell, but has no idea of its worth. It is an industrial welder--100% duty cycle, and very state of the art for its time. This one was used by Lockheed for awhile. Anyhow, google isn't much help on this, so I wondered what you guys thought. Here are a couple pics.

Cheers!

Dan

Considering it is a 3 phase welder, I'd say it is not worth much. 3 phase welders do not sell for much money.

Unless you live in a large urban area, they are hard to sell because they aren't worth the cost of shipping. There aren't that many people that have 3 phase power so the number of potential buyers is small. I have seen them sell for $50 to $200, the lower range of which is in the scrap value of the copper they contain.

Dad isn't in a metropolitan area, but regularly goes down to Livermoore and Sacramento, so delivery is an option. He has a 3/4 ton dodge and the ability to load the welder.

I thought the three phase stuff was preferred for industrial work?

It is, but most industrial shops will have newer equipment which tends to have more features and be more energy efficient. Inverter based welder will use much less electricity. I'm guessing a Dynasty 700DX would have more power output, but still use less electricity.
